The Birth of Christ

Many people in this world do not know that the manager scene is incorrect. According to the Bible, the wise men didn't attend the birth of the baby. They arrived when Jesus was a child and living in a house. He was probably between one and two years old. This is evident because Herod made the decree to kill all the babies born in Bethlehem that were two years old or younger. Many people thought that the wise men came to the manager and within a few days Mary, Joseph, and Jesus fled to Egypt. Did you know that according to Luke 2:22, that Joseph was to offer a sacrifice to God for the opening of the womb by the first born male child according to the laws of Moses. This could not take place until the time of purification of the mother which was 40 days. So, they didn't go to the Temple until after the 40 days were complete.
When was Jesus born? In my studies, I researched to true age of Jesus and in one of my past blogs proved by a verse in Daniel that Jesus was actually 37 years 5 month 13 days and 8.8 hours old. That would mean that if Jesus died in 32 AD, that He had to be born October 7, 7BC. That is a long way from December 25th. That makes more sense, since the shepherds were in the field at night with the sheep.
That fact put the next question in my mind, was there a star of Bethlehem? So, the search was on. I began studying all kinds of information about the signs in the sky during that time. Most people would not be looking in the right time frame to find it.
The Chinese were very good at recording events witnesses in the sky during this time and it was recorded in stone. There was an event that I believe was the star of Bethlehem. After all, the wise men had to have seen something that had some meaning to it, they didn't just see a light and say "hey there is a star, the savior of the world must have been born." So, in 7 BC I found out that Saturn and Jupiter aligned 3 different times forming a bright star over several different months in the constellation of Pisces. Pisces is the sign of the fish and it represented the nation of Israel. A star appearing 3 times in the constellation that represents Israel? Now that would be a sign of the messiah that the Jews talked of.
Why did the wise men know to look for such a star? The messiah had only been promised to the Jews and they were the only ones that knew of the coming messiah. The answer is that when the Jews were captured by the Babylonians and taken back to Babylon as slaves, they taught the information to the wise men of Babylon. So, when the sign appeared, the wise men knew what area of the country to look. The Bible says that the star disappeared, and the wise men went to Herod to get information of the location of the Messiah. Herod also asked his wise men of the prophecy and they also knew the recorded information even though they didn't recognize the signs.
Isn't it incredible, God placed the planets and the stars in the sky so that they would proclaim the birth of the messiah from the beginning of time. His plan was for salvation of all mankind from the beginning of creation. The star of Bethlehem was there, it was set in motion at the beginning of time for a specific date that a child would be born in a manger as the savior of the world. No mistakes, no guessing, perfection in motion, the perfect plan to show the world that there is a God and He sent His son into the world to give us eternal life with Him if we only choose to do so.

God bless and Merry Christmas (even if we are a few months off , :) , Dean
